Kick off the day by heading to Mount Etna, Europe’s tallest and most active volcano. It’s so big that it even has its own weather system! We’ll take a scenic cable car ride up the slopes and then, hop in a 4×4 bus* for an offroad adventure through stark, moonlike landscapes.

Leaving Syracuse, we'll journey through Sicily’s rolling hills, sun-drenched villages, olive groves, and vineyards. Our first stop is the Villa Romana del Casale, once the home of a wealthy Roman aristocrat. As you walk through the villa and admire its vivid and detailed mosaics, you'll feel as if you're walking through the pages of history and get a rare glimpse into daily life nearly 2,000 years ago.

Following the visit to this ancient villa, we'll enjoy a freshly-made lunch at a countryside farm, composed of ingredients straight from the surrounding fields.

Later, we'll arrive in Palermo, home of the earliest ice cream sandwich, brioche con gelato! After checking into your hotel, the late afternoon is free to wander the energetic streets or grab dinner on your own.
