The Lapland experience was amazing. To boot on the last night we got to see an amazing display of the Northern Lights. To review the actual Solo in Style tour who partnered with Globe Drifters I felt the trip was sub-par compared to the first trip I took with SIS to Italy in the fall of 2025.. I completely understand this type of trip is an entire different experience than Italy as it is an active, immersive type trip. Regardless I still had high expectations for wonderful food, fancy hotel room, excellent communication, and excellent organization etc. When I booked I was greeted by Rebecca who was amazing at communication. She guided me with every question I had. I was told a What's App group would be started a few weeks before the start of the trip so the group could start communicating and making plans. That never happened; the What's app group was initiated a day or two before the tour started. Once Sandy our tour guide took over it seems communications and organizations became less and disorganized. For example, I got stopped at customs. I was drilled for 30 minutes by the border guard over not having the documents for the inter-country travel to Lapland. I had no idea the resort we were staying at (it even changed a few days later), no flight documents to/from Lapland. When suggesting to Sandy for future travel the response was "Hope this doesn't ruin your trip" "You must have gotten a grumpy border agent" This was NOT my intent. My intent was a warning for future travelers to make sure to be more prepared with ALL the documents for the trip. Especially given the current climate in the world today especially coming from the United States of America. One caveat I arrived the day Iran was bombed by the US. (possibly a reason for the interrogation). In my previous trip with SIS there was a meet and greet zoom meeting a few months before; actually 2 zoom meetings. This allowed for the group to meet, start communicating and making travel plans. I was disappointed this did not happen with the Lapland trip. I was expecting so much more beforehand that did not happen. There was no welcome meeting on day 1. Nothing was planned on day 1 and the last 2 days for that matter. We met the group in the lobby of the hotel day 2 on the morning we were heading to the airport for Lapland. It would have been great to have met these ladies ahead of time by zoom a month or so ahead of time as to make travel plans, meet up's, plan tours if we happen to come into Helsinki early or staying later etc. There was one group email that ended up getting crazy confusing it was impossible to follow along. I ended up booking a last minute food tour on Day 1 of the tour once I found out that nothing was happening. I am glad I did otherwise that would have been disappointing hanging around the hotel. Hotel Mestari was really nice. btw. FYI No room service, the bar & restaurant were closed on Sundays. .The staff tho were 5+star. The few days in Lapland at The Northern Lights Village were nice. We were told there was a last minute change the morning we were to arrive at the resort. The rooms were clean tho not as nice as I would have expected from SIS. The food at the resort was buffet style, left out for hours. It seemed the left overs were served the next day in the form of soups. I felt this was a food safety issue. Some meats smelled rancid at times. Overall the experiences at the resort was nice. The staff were kind and accommodating. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, dog sledding, Reindeer sleigh rides were really fun. To be honest tho, all the experiences were all part of the resort. There were no special accommodations for us SIS ladies. I could have booked this experience myself with a friend and had the exact same experiences for a lot less money. On the last day of the day of the trip I was expecting some kind of "thank you" dinner, meeting or something to wrap up the week and say our thank you's and good bye's to our new friends. I am sure different organizations that SIS contract with operate differently. As my second trip with SIS I was surprised as this experience was not what I expected. The company was nice, I was able to meet a few new friends that I hope to continue to stay in touch with and travel together again sometime. As for me personally sorry to admit I do not think I will book a Globe Drifters sponsored trip in the future. I am happy I went. I have fond memories made with new friends, got to see the lights and travel to a new country.

All the activities, except the first one, were incredible. The first activity (in the closed box sleighs pulled by snowmobiles) should be taken off the list. We never received a full itinerary, and the flight details/tickets for Helsinki-Ivalo were received at the last minute. A scheduled private meet and greet and welcome dinner may have helped break the ice and led to a closer knit group. A closing private dinner in Helsinki on the last night would have been appreciated. Overall, better communication and encouragement of camaraderie was needed. However, Lapland was gorgeous and the Finns were perfect hosts. So glad I went. It really was the experience of a lifetime.

This trip was a dream come true, it was a winter wonderland and I got to do everything I wanted to do. We even got to see a beautiful Aurora display on the last night. I do have some feedback in that the WhatsApp chat between the group Tour participants could have been started quite a bit earlier. I found the email interactions a little hard to follow and confusing. The reason I gave it four stars as opposed to five stars was that the quality of the meals at the northern lights village in my opinion was below par. There were some good meals but none were very good. And I noticed that the lodge recycled a lot of foods in three meals. I’ve never seen that done before, and it gave me a slight concern with food safety. There were certain foods that were really badly prepared. I had tried reindeer prior to the Tour starting, and it was very good - but the way they’ve had it prepared it was god-awful. The scrambled eggs for breakfast were in an edible. And there were a number of other notable instances like this where the food was just really bad. I did love my cottage and you were able to see the northern lights from the cottage as advertised so that was a highlight. All the activities with the guides were really fun and the guides were just great. If the food had been better, I think I could’ve given this tour five stars. I understand drifters doesn’t make the food, but I just wanted to let you know. Our tour guide was very sweet and engaging and nice, she made sure to spend time with everybody in the tour and engage everybody equally. She kept us on track. She made sure everybody got to where they needed to be and that things flowed as they should.

This was an AMAZING experience! I can't say enough good about Sandy our guide! She was always available for any questions, her positive attitude was contagious, and she continually checked in on everyone to make sure they were comfortable with the activities we were doing. Things I think could have been better: 1)I feel we should have had more information regarding flights (times) from Helsinki to Lapland prior to our trip. No-one seems to know this information until the day before. 2) there were activities that were mentions, but it was not mentions that there were extra costs and what those costs were (Toboggan ride for one)

Sandy was phenomenal and this made all the difference with this trip. She was constantly managing any and all questions and went above and beyond to be sure the experience was the best. A few examples are: (1) before the Spa experience she made sure slippers were available and the hot tub and sauna were ready to go, (2) on the last night, when we had the opportunity to see the Northern lights, Sandy stayed up for hours, moved around the grounds to support us and provided us with updates. The length of the trip was a bit long for what all there was to do- there was much downtime. Once again, Sandy made sure the snow shoes were available and provided directions along with a video of how to easily walk into town and things to do in town. Sandy is truly an asset to this company and I would do additional trips with her as the guide

As an extensive worldwide Traveler with friends, family and frequently solo, I normally make all my own travel plans due to a major mix up with a travel company years ago .This time I did not want the responsibility. I chose Globe Drifters after speaking to Rebecca about my expectations and sharing with her what I am looking for and expected. My expectations were met and exceeded on the May 2025 Jordan trip. This was also the initial Jordan trip and I was very happy with the complete outcome. The fellow group Travelers were kind and interesting and fun. The tour guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable and considerate. The tour leader was a bonus! All accommodations were beautiful and clean, excursions were interesting however you had the opportunity if you did not want to join that day you could go in a different direction which I think is quite thoughtful. I will plan another future trip with Globe Drifters and would highly recommend them
