About this trip

Discover a different side of Costa Rica on our Costa Rica Women's Slowcation... Set at a private rainforest sanctuary near Dominical, this women-only Costa Rica trip is pura vida at its finest: unhurried days, local culture, nourishing meals, optional wellness experiences, and time to relax and enjoy Costa Rica’s wild beauty.

Exclusive Rainforest Experience: Arrive by private charter flight over the Pacific coastline to a secluded rainforest property, hidden away from crowds yet close to the nature and traditions that make this country so special.

Waterfalls, Coastal Beauty & Local Life: Swim at one of the area’s most beautiful waterfalls, spend time at the beach along the wild Pacific coast, and browse a truly local market in nearby Dominical.

Wellness, Your Way: Music, gentle movement, bonfires, dancing, game nights, guided conversations, and a traditional blue clay ritual are woven into the week. Join what feels right, skip what doesn’t, and enjoy the week at your own pace.

Day 1

Arrival at the Rainforest Sanctuary

Welcome to Costa Rica! We'll catch a short private charter flight over the Pacific coastline, an incredible introduction to your slowcation. From there, it’s a short drive to the exclusive rainforest property, home for the next seven days.

Upon arrival, sip on a refreshing welcome mocktail, a brief introduction to the property, and time to settle into your room. The rest of the day is intentionally easy: explore the grounds, take a dip in the pool, or get some R&R before our first lunch together.

Later, we’ll gather for a welcome meeting to get to know each other better, followed by a fresh, nourishing dinner. Afterward, a local Costa Rican practitioner will lead a calming sound healing session. No effort or experience is needed; just sit back, listen, and enjoy.

Included:

  • Transfers: Private charter flight

  • Activities: Welcome meeting; Sound healing

  • Meals: Welcome mocktail, Lunch, Dinner

  • Accommodation: Private rainforest property, exclusive to our group

Arrival note: We recommend arriving in San José one day early so you do not miss the private charter flight. Guests staying at the designated pre-tour hotel will have complimentary transportation to the domestic terminal.

Please see the FAQ tab for details about international flights, arrival timing, and the charter flight.

Blue Clay Experience

Begin the day with gentle morning movement and yoga before breakfast. Later in the morning, we’ll head to a nearby river for a traditional blue clay ritual led by a local indigenous guide who will show you how to apply the mineral-rich clay to your skin and rinse it off in the river, a sacred tradition of the area.

After lunch, the afternoon is yours. Spend it poolside, visit the spa, follow the jungle paths, or find a quiet corner of the property to read,  or simply rest and take in the sounds of the rainforest.

We’ll come back together a bit later for Identity & Reinvention to talk about life, change, and what you want to focus on next. After dinner, there'll be a game night, an easygoing evening of laughter, conversation, and time together.

Included:

  • Activities: Gentle morning movement & yoga; Blue clay experience; Identity & Reinvention workshop; Game night

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Accommodation: Private rainforest property, exclusive to our group

Today is the most wellness-focused day of the trip, but everything is optional. Join what interests you, or spend the day enjoying the property in your own way: book a massage, swim in the pool, stroll through the jungle, or just relax. It’s up to you.

No experience is needed for any of the included activities. Come as you are, whether you already love yoga and movement or are trying something new for the first time.

For those who would like to participate, the day includes light yoga with chanting meditation before breakfast, an ecstatic dance session in the late morning, a workshop called Rediscovering Your Purpose before dinner, and candlelight yin yoga after dinner.

There will be time to swim, explore the nearby trails, and soak up this remarkable setting before returning to the accommodation.

After lunch, the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. For those who would like to try it, a cold plunge and ice bath experience will also be available.

Later, we’ll come together for Listening to the Wisdom of Your Body, a discussion about rest, energy, and paying attention to what your body needs. The evening ends with dinner and time to unwind with the group.

  • Activities: Nauyaca Waterfalls; Cold plunge/Ice bath (optional, but included); Free time; Listening to the Wisdom of Your Body workshop

Have lunch together, followed by a bit of time to recharge. Then, we'll gather for Relationships & Boundaries, where we’ll explore connection, communication, and the relationships we choose to nurture.

After dinner, the day closes with a Medicine Music Experience, a live music performance with global rhythms, instruments, and vocals. Move, sing, or listen in whatever way feels natural.
